People everywhere, including many students from the ILA, have somewhat reverted back to their social lives pre-Corona. And that makes me wonder if they are starting to disregard the data that come with news reports regarding the virus.
I think it is important for us to remember that although we are being taught in this course to be critical of news media, some articles that reference actual data from reliable sources need to be believed and trusted for our own safety.
This article speaks about how the availability of hospital beds for the virus are slowly going down in many areas of Japan. This references not only the increasing numbers of COVID-19 patients, but also the possible inconvenience to future patients of the virus, which can realistically, be any of us.
So I would like for my classmates to read this article, and realize that the virus is still very much our reality, and that we need to take the necessary precautions until things can actually go back to how they used to be.
